This year’s holidays may look a little different, but the key is to keep moving forward. Why not take a holiday and enjoy the season? Visit Ipswich, the oldest provincial city in Queensland.
Ipswich is a great destination, with a rich history, strong cultural scene, magnificent parks, and a food and shopping precinct. If you haven’t already begun your Christmas Shopping, you should get started right away.
Below is a list of Ipswich shopping destinations so you can start planning!
Ripley Markets
Ripley Markets, held every second Saturday of the month, features over 60 stalls selling delectable food from across the world and homemade home products and fashion items. So grab your eco-friendly bags and head over to each booth to check what hidden gems they have. Live music, farm animals, a jumping castle, and even a circus school are available at Ripley Markets.
The market is open from 3 to 8 p.m., and social distance is required. Hand sanitiser stations have also been installed throughout Ripley Markets.
Ipswich Twilight Markets
Ipswich Twilight Markets are open from 3 to 8 p.m. every first Friday of the month. You can visit them in Nicholas St Precinct. The market has several food trucks, art & craft stalls, live entertainment, and activities for a great family night out.
Aside from the weekend markets, Ipswich offers a variety of shopping centres. Even if your primary aim is to shop, you will want to visit some because of the historical significance.
Ipswich Antique Centre
Ipswich Antique Centre is where to go if you’re looking for antiques and collectibles like Australian, Country, and English furniture, beds, Australian pottery, jewellery, vintage apparel, and movie memorabilia. The shop sells antiques and collectibles in large quantities.
Ipswich Antique Centre, which sells antiques, is housed in an 1895 Heritage Listed building air-conditioned. That is quite a sight to see.
Riverlink Shopping Centre
Riverlink Shopping Centre was formerly Ipswich’s first railway workshop and is located on the banks of the Bremer River. Even though Riverlink is Ipswich’s primary shopping district, with large retailers, 140 speciality boutiques, Limelight Cinemas, and restaurants overlooking the river, there are still elements of history. An example is the lovely old steam trains that chugged across the river between Riverlink’s two shopping centres.
Brassall Shopping Centre
Brassall is a shopping precinct in Ipswich. It is your one-stop-shop for fashion, health and beauty, dining, grocery, and entertainment.
Brassall Shopping Centre is open except on Christmas Day, Labour Day, Good Friday, and Anzac Day. Please keep in mind that speciality store hours may vary.
Booval Fair Shopping Centre
